The Effects of Twin-n Applications on Yield and Some Yield Factors on Bread Wheat

Abstract

TwinN is a product obtained by selecting the linking nitrogen beneficial microorganisms. High performance consists of nitrogen-fixing microorganisms. All plants that exist in the atmosphere (78%) of natural nitrogen source, efficient, economical, safe and environmentally friendly offers. In this study; 2011-2012 growing season for wheat in the tillering (Z-23) and bolting (Z-36) twice in the period, including Twin-N application is made. Randomized block design according to the four established repeated this experiment in Adana-99 bread wheat varieties commonly planted in our region is used as seed material. Totally 7 applications were performed as; Y1: Control (15 kg/da DAP+35 kg/da UREA), Y2: 15 kg/da DAP only, Y3: 15 kg/da DAP+17.5 kg/da UREA, Y4: 100% Y1+Twin-N, Y5: 75% Y1+Twin-N, Y6: 50% Y1+Twin-N, and Y7: 25% Y1+Twin-N. In this study, the effects on the agronomic characteristics of wheat held Twinn application in different growth stages of wheat were investigated. As for the yield values; the highest value has been found as 8002.2 kg/ha in control+Twin-N application (Y4). Control+Twin-N application has provided a 360.7-kg/ha (5%) more yield increase compared to our conventional practice (Y1), which is considered as positive control. Similarly, a comparison of Y3 and Y6 showed a 341.8 kg/ha (5%) yield increase from TwinN although this difference was not statistically significant. Control (Y1) and the method we deducted 25% of the top-fertiliser, namely the method we used the 75% of the top-fertiliser and used Twin-N (Y5) have fallen into the same group (ab) statistically. It has been found in consideration of this single-year results that Twin-N application for wheat provided a 25% saving in top-fertiliser usage.
