Purgatory in Catholic Christianity

Abstract

According to the Catholic view, the dead which does not go directly into the paradise, stays at the purgatory stage waiting for reunion with God. The church confirmed this first in the council of Lyon (1274), and recognized it in the councils of Florence (1439) and Trient (1547, 1563). In the following you get informed about the different views of Catholic school to Purgatory.
