Hypocritical Religiosity
Abstract
Hypocritical religiosity, in the beginning, may be seen problematic from the conceptual viewpoşnt because it is supposed to harm the possitive meaning content of religiosity. But if the matter is approached carefully, it will be understood that the concept states clearly the religiosity exposed hypocritically. Considering that there is hypocritical religiousness as a reality in social life, as well as sincere religiosity, this conceptualisation is not wrong. Hypocritical religiosity, a style of religious behavior, is the opposite of sincere religiosity. It states displaying religiousness and hypocrisy in religiosity. Hypocritical religiosity is that human shows a religious action based on various material or spiritual self-interest expectations to make happy society. Hypocritical religious does not act as he/she believes. The essential emphasis on hypocritical religiosity is to perform hypocrisy under the name of religiosity and based on religiosity. In this study, hypocritical religiosity as a social relationship is discussed both with regard to itsconceptualisation and possibilities of its observation from the sociological point of view.
