Ala-ad-Din Ali b. Yahyâ as-Samarkandî's work titled Bahru'l-ulûm could not come to the fore in the tafsir literature due to the fact that it was compared to different names such as Abu'l-Lays as-Samarkandî and Abdurrahman b. Ibrahim al-Konawî in some sources. Although it was written with the method of narration, in this work, which also bears traces of the method of resilience, the author started from Surah al-Fatiha by taking into account the current mushaf scheme and commented on the part up to the 5th verse of Surah Mujadala. The section from the 5th verse of Surah al-Mujadala to the end of Surah Nas is also famous under the name of Jamal al-Karamani, and his student Ishaq b. It was completed by Muhammad al-Karamânî and this work was called Tafsîr al-Qur'ân (Jamâlî Tafsiri). The commentator, who is considered one of the pioneers of commentary and commentary studies, made detailed explanations on linguistics and recitation such as sarf, nahiv, and rhetoric in his tafsir. In addition, he benefited from hadiths, the sayings of the companions and tabiin at the point of understanding the verses, philosophy and mysticism.
