Design Nexus: Interdisciplinary Journal of Design Studies welcomes original research articles, visual/practice-based studies, and review papers in the fields of design, architecture, interior architecture, and related disciplines. Authors are required to follow the journal’s formatting and ethical standards as outlined below.
1. Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online system: https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/designnexus.
Only unpublished and original work that is not under review elsewhere will be considered.

2. Manuscript Structure
All manuscripts should be prepared in Times New Roman, size 12 pt, single-spaced, and justified alignment.
The recommended structure is:
1. Title Page – Title, author(s) full name(s), affiliation(s), e-mail(s), and the corresponding author indicated with an asterisk.
2. Abstract – Maximum 200 words, written in Times New Roman, 11 pt, single-spaced. The abstract should clearly state the novelty, aim, and main findings of the study.
3. Keywords – Minimum 3 keywords must be provided.
4. Introduction – State the research objective and background (without extensive literature review).
5. Materials and Methods – Provide sufficient detail for reproducibility.
6. Results – Present clear and concise findings, supported by tables/figures where appropriate.
7. Discussion – Interpret results, highlight significance, and compare with existing literature.
8. Conclusion – Summarize key contributions and implications of the study. Avoid repeating results.
9. Acknowledgements – State funding sources, if any. If no funding, include: “This research did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”
10. Authors’ Contributions – Briefly describe individual author roles.
11. Conflict of Interest Statement – Authors must disclose any potential conflicts.
12. References – APA 7th edition style must be followed.
3. Figures, Tables, and Equations
Figures must be original or used with permission, submitted as separate .jpg/.png files (minimum 300 dpi).
Tables should be single-spaced, 9 pt, with short descriptive titles. Avoid vertical rules or shading.
Equations should be numbered consecutively and referred to in the text (e.g., Equation 1).
4. Referencing (APA 7th Edition)
In-text citations:
- One author: (Smith, 2020)
- Two authors: (Jones & Lee, 2021)
- Three or more authors: (Martin et al., 2019)
Reference list examples:

5. Ethical Considerations
Submissions must comply with research ethics, including proper citation, avoidance of plagiarism, and acknowledgment of funding/support.
Visual and practice-based submissions should ensure rights and permissions for reproduced material.
6. Review and Publication Process
All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.
Accepted manuscripts will be copy-edited and published in the forthcoming issue.
Authors will receive a final proof for approval before publication.
