Opinions of Fathers with 48-72 Months-Old Children Regarding Communication Barriers
Abstract
In this study, which aims to examine the views of fathers with 48-72-month-old children on communication barriers, 15 fathers with 48-72-month-old children with different demographic characteristics residing in Selçuklu District of Konya Province were discussed through semi-structured questions about their views on communication barriers in their communication with their children. The information about the demographics of the fathers was obtained using the “Personal Information Form” and their views on communication barriers were obtained using the “Interview Form”. Phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. Four themes were obtained through the collected data. These themes are called as "Identification", "Analysis", "Attitude" and "Outcomes". As a result of the research, it was concluded that fathers have knowledge about communication barriers, seek solutions for the well-being of the child when they experience problems in their communication with their children and support their children. Suggestions were made for the results of the research.
