Research on the Hopelessness Level of Diabetics Patients According to Their Sex and Education Level

If it is not kept under control, the diabetes which occurs due to insulin deficiency causes some disorders in the body. İt is possible for the patient to avoid this or to reduce it with care. This can only be achieved through education and self-confidence. In this study we aimed to determine whether these patients' hopelessness level differed according to their sex and their education level. Dut of the 300 patients who are members of the Diabetic to Life Association in Samsun, 143 volunters were included in the study. This study were used personal information form and Beck hopelessness. According to the results of the Mann-Whitney U Test, it was found out that the difference in the mean point of patients' sex and their hopelessness level was statistically significant. We concludead that these patients might show some behavioral disorders and the way they think may change. For this reason, in treatment of these patients, it is advisable that psychologist or consultant.

İnsülin eksikliği sonucu oluşan diyabet, kontrol edilemediğinde vücutta bir takım hasarlar meydana getirmektedir. Bunu önlemek veya en aza indirmek diyabetik bireyin kendi kendini kontrolü ile mümkündür. Bu da ancak eğitim ve kendine güven ile mümkün olmaktadır.
