Perceptions of The Students Attending The Faculty of Letters and Science and Faculty of Education and The Programme Wrthout Thesis as to The Teaching Profession
Abstract
Turkish educational system meets its teacher requirements through various practices, one of which is the master program without thesis for the graduates of different faculties, especially of the faculties of letters and science to give them teaching formation. These practices are quite new and the results cannot be evaluated at the moment. The study's scope is the senior students of the faculty of letters and science who want to be teachers and the students attending the program without thesis and the senior students of the faculty of education and the purpose of the study is to analyze their perceptions as to teaching profession. The population of the research was the students of the faculty of Letters and Science, Faculty of Education and students from Institutes of Social Sciences and Science, University of Osmangazi, who are attending the programs without thesis. For this purpose, a questionnaire was developed by the researchers so as to measure the perception levels. After its application, the results were evaluated and comments were presented.
