THE PROFILES OF THE STUDENTS ATTENDING THE SECONDARY EDUCATION FIELD TEACHING WITHOUT THESIS: OSMANGAZI UNIVERSITY CASE
Abstract
Under the law concerned, in addition ot the departments of the Faculties of Education, the task to educate teachers for secondary education has been giyen to the programmes without thesis which are carried out in coordination with the faculties of education and the related institutes. The purpose of the study is to reveal the profiles, problems and expectations as to the programme of the students attending Osmangazi University, Institute of Science, Scinece and Mathematics Field Teaching and Institute of Social Sciences, Social Fields Teaching. The field of the study is the students registered at Secondary Education Teaching Master Programme Without Thesis at Osmangazi University. No sample group was appointed for the study and the students in the study field were reached. The purpose was to determine the current situation, which was a survey in nature. A questionnaire was use to get the opinions of the students, which was developed by the researchers and whose reliability and validity analyses were also made. With this study, findings as to the profiles, expectations and problems of the students attending the programmes without thesis were evaluated and suggestions were made to improve the programme in the light of the contemporary developments and approaches.
