BİYOLOJİ ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ BAZI GENEL BİYOLOJİ KONULARINDAKİ KAVRAM YANILGILARININ İKİ AŞAMALI ÇOKTAN SEÇMELİ BİR ARAÇ İLE BELİRLENMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, biyoloji öğretmen adaylarının bazı genel biyoloji konuları ile ilgili kavramları anlama düzeyleri ve kavram yanılgılarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda on maddelik iki aşamalı çoktan seçmeli genel biyoloji kavram yanılgısı testi geliştirilmiştir. Her bir madde iki aşamalı çoktan seçmeli sorudan oluşmaktadır. Her sorunun birinci aşamasında, verilen biyolojik kavram ile ilgili içerik bilgisi, ikinci aşamasında ise birinci aşama¬ya verilen cevabın sebebinin açıklanması istenmiştir. Test 2002-2003 öğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında 92 öğretmen adayına uygulanmıştır. Kavram yanılgı testinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre, öğretmen adaylarının bazı biyoloji konularında sadece kavram yanılgılarına değil aynı zamanda eksik bilgilere de sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Sonuçlar literatür bilgisi ile karşılaştırılmış ve öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

DETERMINATION OF BIOLOGY STUDENT TEACHERS' MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT SOME BIOLOGICAL CONCEPTS WITH A TWO TIER MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine biology student teachers'understandings and misconceptions of some biological concepts for this study, a general biology misconception test was developed as a ten item two-tier multiple choice test. The first Her of each item was designed to examine student teachers'content knowledge of a selected biology concept, while the tier was designed to elicit reasons for their responses for first tier. The developed instrument was applied to 92 student teachers during 2002-2003 spring semester. According to the results of this study, it was identified that student teachers not only have misconceptions but also have lack of understanding about the concepts. Some suggestions were giyen after the comparison of the results with relalted literature.
