Pediatri Hemşireliğinde Aile Merkezli Bakım

Year 2014, Volume: 7 Issue: 4, 315 - 320, 01.11.2014

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Hospitalization of a child is a stressful situation for the child as well as the parents. Hospitalization changes daily
routines, family roles and tasks of family members. Studies show that parents need to be educated about their eagerness to stay in the hospital
with their children, actively participating in child care and diagnostic and treatment tests. The concept of family-centered care along with
partnership of a professional team increases the well-being of the child and brings quality standardization to child care. Family-centered care
is the best approach for fulfilling the needs and expectations of parents as well as children in a hospital environment. This compilation
contains several insights about Family-Centered Care Approach in Pediatric Nursing and its importance
