DETERMINATION OF H SHAPED MICROSTRIP ANTENNA’S RESONANT FREQUENCY WITH INVASIVE WEED ALGORITHM

Abstract

Antennas are circuit elements used to radiate electromagnetic waves and by capturing them convert incident electromagnetic waves into electrical signals. Antenna gain, resonant frequency, bandwidth and directivity are among the most important parameters in the antenna design. In this study, to determining the resonant frequency of H-shaped compact microstrip antennas designed for 1-3 GHz frequency band, depending on the antenna size, a method has been proposed by Invasive Weed algorithm (IWO). IWO is a optimization algorithm which has been developed inspired by invasive and resistant structures of invasive weeds. In the study, 190 having different sizes and different electrical parameters H-shaped compact microstrip antenna resonance frequency based on the empirical formula resonance frequency is optimized by IWO. Then these results can be tested by an simulation software the success of proposed method was tested. To work in the desired resonant frequency of the H shaped microstrip antenna, what would be the size by the help of IWO, have been obtained with 0.4% margin of error and the effect of IWO in determining the resonant frequency of H shaped microstrip antenna has been demonstrated
