DETERMINING THE αm SHEARWALL CONTRIBUTION FACTOR WITH DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION METHOD IN SHEARWALL-FRAME STRUCTURES AND DEVELOPED COMPUTER PROGRAM

Abstract

“DIFA” bilgisayar programı ile çözülen betonarme perde-çerçeveli 8 ve 15 katlı iki yapı ayrıca Sap 2000 bilgisayar programı ile çözülmüş ve her iki çözümden bulunan sonuçlar karşılaştırılmıştır. In this paper, a paremetric study is carried about the coefficient called as the Shear Wall Contribution factor am, which takes an important place as taking the correct value of the Structural Behaviour Factor R needed to determine the conditions for structural systems of high and nominal ductility levels in analysis which became valid in the new Turkish Earthquake Design Code, 1998. To obtain the coefficient am, which is defined as the ratio of the sum of the shearwall base moments over the sum of the overturning moments of the structure, a practical method which is called “Differantial Equation Method” was explaned and the required correlation was given.And also a computer program which is called “DIFA” is developed for analysing shearwall-frame systems and obtaining the coefficent am Shear Wall Contribution. As numerical solutions 8 and 15 storey two shearwall structures was dealed with, the analysis has been done both “DIFA” computer program and SAP 2000 (Structural Analysis Program) then a comparision has been made by using the results taken from the analysis.
