THE SIMULATION OF CLIMATIC CONDITION IN UNDERGROUND MINES

Abstract

The estimation of the expected climatic conditions is extremely important before production in deep underground mines. In this study, the principle theory used in the simulation of climatic conditions has been given and the use of the package program called CLIMSIM has been introduced. In-situ measurements have been done on –425 level, for the simulation of mine climate conditions in Kozlu Colliery Turkish Hardcoal Enterprises. The results of these measurements have been used as data. The simulation of climatic conditions for –840 levels, planned to be open in near future, has been performed by using CLIMSIM. It has been determined that the entrance air of –840 level will have dry bulb temperature of 28.07 oC, wet bulb temperature of 22.1 oC and barometric pressure of 111.34 kPa during summer months.
