THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW WOMEN’S BODICE PATTERN MAKING TECHNIQUE THAT PROVIDES SATISFACTORY FIT, BASED ON DIRECT BODY MEASUREMENTS

Abstract

Apparel fit problems effect both the aesthetic and functional characteristics of a garment. Since the human body comes in an almost infinite variety of sizes and shapes, a need exists to improve the conventional pattern drafting methods and develop a new method which fit the body more efficiently and effectively. This paper presents a new technique for two-dimensional pattern drafting for individually fitted garments. It consisted of taking 16 different physical measurements from the female body and translating them into a two-dimensional bodice patterns. The detailed pattern construction steps were specified and new patterns developed were cut out in muslin and made up to test the form and fit.

DOĞRUDAN VÜCUT ÖLÇÜLERİNE DAYALI, VÜCUDA TAM OTURAN YENİ BİR BAYAN ÜST BEDEN TEMEL KALIP HAZIRLAMA TEKNİĞİNİN GELİŞTİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Giysilerin vücuda uyum ve kalıp problemleri giysinin estetik ve fonksiyonel özelliklerini doğrudan etkilemektedir. İnsan vücudu çok çeşitli boyut ve şekillerde olduğundan, halihazırda kullanılmakta olan kalıp çizim sistemlerinin biraz daha geliştirilmesi ve vücuda çok daha iyi uyum gösteren, vücudu saran yeni bir kalıp hazırlama sisteminin geliştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu makale, vücuda iyi uyum sağlayan giysilerin yapılabilmesinde iki boyutlu kalıpların hazırlanmasına yönelik yeni bir kalıp çizim tekniğini önermektedir. Bu çalışmada bayan vücudu üzerinden 16 farklı fiziksel ölçü alınmış ve bu ölçüler 2D üst beden kalıplarına dönüştürülmüştür. Detaylı kalıp çizim aşamaları açıklanmış, hazırlanan kalıplar muslin kumaşa kesilmiş, dikilmiş ve form ve uyum açısından test edilmiştir
