Adaptation of the Group-Leader Self-Assessment (GLSA) Scale into Turkish

Abstract

This study aimed to adapt the Group Leader Self-Assessment (GLSA) scale (Barnes et al., 2020) into Turkish and examine its psychometric properties. To ensure high methodological rigor, the construct validity was tested using two independent samples: Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was conducted with a sample of N1=215, while Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed with a separate sample of N2=101. EFA results revealed a 29-item, five-factor structure, and CFA results confirmed that this model provided a better fit for the Turkish context (RMSEA = .085, CFI = .91, SRMR = .065) than the original four-factor model. Concurrent validity was supported by a significant positive correlation (r = .56, p < .001) with the Group Work Skills Scale. The scale demonstrated excellent internal consistency with a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of .96. Overall, the Turkish version of the GLSA is a methodologically robust, valid, and reliable instrument for assessing the self-perceived competencies of group leaders in various professional settings.

Grup Lideri Öz Değerlendirme (GLSA) Ölçeğinin Türkçeye Uyarlanması

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Barnes vd. (2020) tarafından geliştirilen Grup Liderliği Kendini Değerlendirme Ölçeği’nin (GLDÖ) Türkçeye uyarlanması ve psikometrik özelliklerinin incelenmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın yapı geçerliği süreci, iki bağımsız örneklem üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir; ölçeğin faktör yapısını belirlemek amacıyla grup çalışması deneyimi olan PDR, Psikoloji ve Sosyal hizmet bölümü öğrenci ve mezunlarından oluşan 215 katılımcıdan elde edilen verilerle Açıklayıcı Faktör Analizi (AFA), elde edilen yapıyı doğrulamak amacıyla ise 101 katılımcıdan oluşan farklı bir örneklemle Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) yapılmıştır. AFA sonuçları 29 maddelik beş faktörlü bir yapı ortaya koyarken; DFA sonuçları bu yapının Türk örnekleminde kabul edilebilir düzeyde uyum gösterdiğini (RMSEA = .085, CFI = .91, SRMR = .065) doğrulamıştır. Ölçeğin eşzamanlı geçerliği kapsamında Grup Çalışması Becerileri Ölçeği ile pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki (r = .56, p < .001) saptanmıştır. İç tutarlılık analizi sonucunda Cronbach Alfa katsayısı .96 olarak bulunmuştur. Bulgular, GLDÖ’nün Türkçe formunun grup liderliği yeterliliklerini ölçmede metodolojik olarak güçlü, geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olduğunu göstermektedir.
