Abstract

Leishmaniasis, is a disease that is transmitted by infected sand flies when they suck the blood of mammals. It is estimated that more than 1.5 million new cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) cases occur throughout the world every year and the disease is endemic in southern and southeastern Turkey. Cutaneous leishmaniasis presents a spectrum of manifestations both clinically and histologically. As is in our case, histopathology can be more important than clinical examination. The diagnosis is made by clinical examination and histopathology as well as demonstrating the parasites in the smears obtained from the lesion . Abstract

Leishmaniasis, enfekte tatarcıkların deriden kan emerken bulastırdıkları Leishmania türlerinin memeli konaklarda olusturdukları bir hastalık grubudur. Dünyada, yılda 1.5 milyondan fazla sark çıbanı (KL) olgusu ortaya çıkmaktadır. Ülkemizin güney ve güneydoğu bölgelerinde endemiktir. KL, klinik ve histolojik olarak ortaya konulan spektrumdur. Bizim vakamızda olduğu gibi histopatoloji, klinikten daha önemli olabilir. Hastalığın kesin tanısı, lezyonlardan alınan smear\'lerde etken parazitlerin gösterilmesi yanı sıra histopatolojik ve klinik değerlendirme ile konur. Bizim bu yazıdaki amacımız, atipik görünümlü KL olgusunu sunmaktır.
