Extragenital endometriosis in sigmoid colon and lympathic nodule

Abstract

Although endometriosis is a common disease in women of childbearing age, intestinal endometriosis is unusual and may cause clinically significant complications. We report a 43-year-old woman with extragenital endometriosis who presented with intestinal obstruction. She was operated on with a preoperative diagnosis of malignancy. The diag­nosis of endometriosis was made only after histological examination of the resected specimen. Intestinal endo­metriosis has a diverse clinical spectrum, with nonspecific features in many patients. In female patients who have unexplained digestive complaints, endometriosis should also be considered in the differential diagnosis.

Sigmoid kolon ve lenf düğümünde ekstragenital endometriozis

Abstract

Endometriozis, doğurganlık çağındaki kadınlarda sık gö­rülen bir hastalık olmakla birlikte, intestinal endometrio­zis oldukça nadir görülen ve önemli klinik sorunlara yol açabilen bir hastalıktır. Bu sunumda, ekstragenital endo­metriozis nedeniyle barsak obstrüksiyonuna yol açan 43 yaşında kadın hasta tartışılmıştır. Hastada endometriozis tanısı barsak rezeksiyonundan sonra ameliyat materya­linin histopatolojik incelenmesi sonucunda konulmuştur. İntestinal endometriozis bir çok hastada spesifik olmayan bulgu ve semptomlara neden olmaktadır. Nedeni açıkla­namayan sindirim sistemi şikayetleri ile başvuran kadın hastaların ayırıcı tanısında intestinal endometriozis olabi­leceği de akılda tutulmalıdır.
