The importance of chemoprophylaxis in tuberculosis: On occasion of eight cases in the same family

Abstract

Contact screening and in cases required initiating chemoprophylaxis are great importance for control of tuberculosis (TB). In this paper eight TB cases that occurred among the same family members in 23 years were discussed. . After detection of the index case, failure to contact screening and initiating chemoprophylaxis caused to occurrence of other cases. These cases were presented in order to attract attention of importance of contact screening and initiating chemoprophylaxis

Tüberkülozda kemoprofilaksinin önemi: Aynı ailede sekiz olgu nedeniyle

Abstract

Tüberküloz (TB) kontrolünü sağlamada temaslı taraması yapılması ve gerekli olgularda kemoprofilaksi başlanması büyük önem taşır. Bu yazıda aynı ailede 23 yıl içinde gelişen sekiz TB olgusu tartışıldı. Kaynak olgu saptandıktan sonra temaslı taraması yapılmaması ve kemoprofilaksi başlanmaması diğer olguların ortaya çıkmasına neden olmuştur. Olgular TB kontrolünde temaslı taraması ve kemoprofilaksinin önemini vurgulamak amacıyla sunulmuştur.
