Abstract

Sialolithiasis is characterized by the obstruction of salivary gland or its excretory duct by a calculus. Swelling, pain, and infection are seen in the affected gland. Most common seen in submandibular gland, parotid gland, sublingual gland and minor salivary glands, respectively. Treatment is in a wide range from medical treatment to total excision of the gland. In this case, we reported a patient that have a previously failed surgical treatment for parotid calculi. Superficial parotidectomy was performed. We found the calculi in the proximal ductus of the parotid gland. There was no problem in postoperative follow-up period.
