The place of the Prophet’s Commentary on the Qur’an in Methodology of Qur’anic Exegesis

Abstract

One of the Prophet Mohammed’s (p.b.u.h) primary missions was to convey the Qur’an and explain it to the people. The Prophet intended to convey the revelation through both the Holy book and the meanings behind its text. When conveying the meaning of the Qur’an we find the prophet offering concise, elaborate, specific, systematic, abolishing, and allusive explanations while also providing information on unknown vocabulary. This is referred to as the method of exegesis of the Prophet. In the following centuries each of these topics have become a discipline of Qur’anic sciences. In this paper, general information on the Prophet’s method of exegesis and the disciplines of the Qur’an have been given. In addition, it is also explained that the disciplines of the Qur’an are parallel to the characteristics of the Prophet’s exegesis

HZ. PEYGAMBER (S.A.S.)’İN TEFSİRİNİN KUR’AN İLİMLERİNDEKİ YERİ

Abstract

Hz. Peygamber (s.a.s.)’in aslî vazifelerinden birisi de tebliğ yani Kur’an’ı açıklamak ve insanlara ulaştırmaktır. Hz. Peygamber vahyi tebliğ ederken hem kitabı hem de onun taşıdığı manayı ulaştırmayı hedeflemiştir. Allah Resûlü, Kur’an’ın manasını tebliğ ederken, mücmeli (yüzeysel anlatım) tafsil (ayrıntı), umumu tahsis (özelleştirme), müşkili tavzih (açıklama), neshi (ilga) bildirme, mübhemi (kapalı) açıklama, garip (yabancı) kelimeleri bildirme şeklinde beyanlarda bulunmuştur. Bunlara Hz. Peygamber’in tefsir metodu denilmektedir. Daha sonraki asırlarda bu başlıkların her biri birer Kur’an ilmi olarak teşekkül etmiştir. Bu makalede Resûlüllah’ın tefsir metoduna dair bilgi verilerek Ulûmu’l-Kur’an’a değinilmiş, Kur’an ilimlerinin bir kısmıyla Hz. Peygamber’in tefsirinin özelliklerinin aynı paralelde olduğu ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır
