Abstract

The millennial generation is used to describe a community born between the late 1980s and early 2000s and raised with technology. This generation grew up under the influence of digitalization, globalization and rapid social changes, and these factors were also reflected in their literary understanding.
When we look at the storytelling of the 1980s generation, we see that they constituted an important turning point in Turkish literature. This generation brought a unique perspective to Turkish literature after 1980. In the 1980s and 1990s, the world of literature and ideas gained a more introverted identity compared to the pre-coup period, and the place of the socialist literature that gained strength after 1960 was filled by the closed narrative loaded with images and metaphors seen in the 1950s generation.
In Turkish storytelling after 2000, social problems were frequently addressed. Literature, which avoided social issues after the 1980 Coup, began to focus on social issues again during this period, and many social issues were turned into stories. In particular, military coups, Gezi Events, environmental problems, work accidents and workers' rights, Syrian Civil War, refugee problem, unemployment and terror have taken place in the stories. In the following years, issues related to the theme of death, socio-political events, violence against women, sexuality and childhood have come to the fore. In addition, in the structure of the stories of this period, there are formal features such as linguistic deviations, use of visuals, various irregularities in spelling and punctuation, as well as postmodernist tendencies such as paratextuality, intertextuality and metafiction.

Türk Edebiyatında Milenyum Kuşağı Öykücülüğü Kitap Değerlendirmesi

Abstract

Milenyum kuşağı, 1980’lerin sonlarından 2000’lerin başlarına kadar doğmuş ve teknolojiyle büyümüş bir topluluğu tanımlamak için kullanlır. Bu kuşak; dijitalleşmenin, küreselleşmenin ve hızlı toplumsal değişimlerin etkisiyle büyümüş ve bu faktörler edebi anlayışlarına da yansımıştır.
1980 kuşağı öykücülüğüne bakıldığında Türk edebiyatında önemli bir dönüm noktasını oluşturdukları görülür. Bu kuşak, 1980 sonrası Türk edebiyatına özgün bir bakış açısı getirmiştir. 1980 – 90’lı yıllarda edebiyat ve fikir dünyası darbe öncesine göre daha içe dönük bir kimlik kazanmış ve 1960 sonrası güçlenen toplumcu edebiyatın yerini 1950 kuşağında görülen imge ve metaforlarla yüklü kapalı anlatım doldurmuştur.
2000 sonrası Türk öykücülüğünde ise toplumsal sorunlar sıklıkla ele alınmıştır. 1980 Darbesi sonrasında toplumsal meselelerden kaçınan edebiyat, bu dönemde yeniden toplumsal meselelere eğilmeye başlamış ve pek çok toplumsal sorun öykü haline getirilmiştir. Özellikle askeri darbeler, Gezi Olayları, çevre problemleri, iş kazaları ve işçi hakları, Suriye İç Savaşı, sığınmacı sorunu, işsizlik ve terör hikâyelerde yer edinmiştir. İlerleyen yıllarda ise ölüm teması ile ilişkili konular başta olmak üzere toplumsal-siyasi olaylar, kadına şiddet, cinsellik, çocukluk gibi konuları öne çıkmaya başlamıştır. Ayrıca bu dönem öykülerinin yapısında dilsel sapmalar, görsellerin kullanımı, yazım ve noktalama ile ilgili çeşitli düzensizlikler gibi biçimsel özelliklerin yanı sıra yan metinsellik, metinlerarasılık, üst kurmaca gibi postmodernist eğilimler de dikkat çekmektedir.
