Color Stability of Four Different Polymerized Acrylic Resins in the Different Solutions

Abstract

Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of four solutions distilled water, tea, coffee, cola on the color change of four different brands of heat polymerized acrylic resins.Material and Method: A total of 160 specimens 40 of each brands of acrylic resins were fabricated according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. The specimens were prepared with a diameter of 10 mm and thickness of 2 mm. All specimens were stored in opaque plastic containers at room temperature. Colorimetric measurements were done on the 1st, 7th, 21th and 30th days of immersion. Color measurement of the specimens from each brands of acrylic resins was recorded by a spectrophotometer. One and two-way analysis of variance were used for comparison staining solutions, test days and acrylic brands Results: Statistically significant differences in ΔE value of the test days were observed when compared the test days p0.001 . That was observed the color changes occurred in tea solution more than coffee for Imıcryl and Vertex acrylics at 30th day. Conclusion: All the acrylic resins that were used in this study showed color change in tea, coffee and cola. The color differences occurred by tea and coffee solutions, varies for each brand of acrylic resin.

Farklı Solüsyonlardaki Dört Farklı Akrilik Rezinin Renk Stabilitesi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı dört farklı solüsyonun distile su, çay, kahve, kola dört farklı marka ısı ile polimerize akrilik rezinin renk değişikliğine etkisini değerlendirmektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Üretici talimatlarına uygun olarak 160 adet akrilik rezin örnek her akrilik markası için 40 adet üretildi. Örnekler 10 mm çapında ve 2 mm kalınlığında hazırlandı. Bütün örnekler opak plastik kaplar içerisinde oda sıcaklığında bekletildi. Kolorimetrik ölçümler 1., 7., 21. ve 30. gün yapıldı. Her bir marka akrilik rezin örneklerin renk ölçümü spektofotometre ile yapıldı. Solüsyonların, test günlerinin ve akrilik rezin markalarının karşılaştırılması için tek ve iki yönlü varyans analizi kullanıldı.Bulgular: Test günlerinin karşılaştırılmasında elde edilen ∆E değerlerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar görülmüştür p0,001 . Otuzuncu test gününde Imıcryl ve Vertex marka akrilik rezinlerde çay solüsyonundaki renk değişikliği kahve solüsyonunkinden daha fazla görülmüştür.Sonuç: Çay, kahve ve kola içerisinde bekletilen akrilik rezinlerin renklenmeleri zamanla artmaktadır. Çay ve kahve solüsyonlarının akrilik rezinlerde oluşturduğu renk farklılıkları kullanılan akrilik rezinin markasına göre değişkenlik göstermektedir
