Dear Authors and Readers of the Journal of Language, Speech and Swallowing Research (DKYAD),

In 2023, DKYAD has been indexed by ProQuest, EBSCO and DOAJ which are international field indexes; updated its design and there has been a significant increase in the number of articles submitted to the Journal. In order to further improve the standards in the national literature, to make the journal more reputable and for the referees to use their energy more efficiently, some updates have been made in the publication policies of the Journal, taking into account your feedback. Accordingly, it has been decided to prioritize manuscripts with the following characteristics:

(a) Studies that comply with the DKYAD spelling rules and are sufficient in terms of grammatical and academic writing rules,

(b) Studies designed in line with a theoretical framework on an important problem and research question for the field of Speech and Language Therapy,

(c) Studies that will make a concrete theoretical or clinical contribution to the field and this contribution is clearly explained,

(d) Studies following rigorous procedures in terms of methodology, measurement and statistical quality,

(e) Studies that include measurements of variables in areas such as language, speech, motor, swallowing and voice, which are fundamental to the field, in the research design.

In addition, in line with the decisions to be implemented as of this date;

(f) It is considered appropriate to include systematic reviews and meta-analyses whose protocols are followed appropriately, rather than traditional or narrative reviews. It is especially important that these studies are written by “authors with experience in the subject under review".

(g) Since the space allocated to review articles per issue in the TR Dizin system is limited, original research is preferred.

(h) In “knowledge, opinion, awareness” studies, those that are considered to make a significant contribution to the field will be included in the evaluation process.

(i) Authors who will submit their studies to DKYAD are expected to review national publications as well as international publications and present the findings of the literature in a more inclusive manner.
