DENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY IN AESTHETIC DENTISTRY

Abstract

The increasing use of digital cameras and camera equipment today contributes to clinicians' to visually document both intra-oral and extra-oral images of their patients. Clinicians who know aesthetic elements and learn how to incorporate technological applications into clinical dentistry can plan the smile design predictably and share the expected result with patients and technicians thanks to dental photography. In addition, all stages of a planned treatment can be shown and positive effects can be left on patients, thanks to photographic records made to other patients before and after treatment. With the right equipment and a good command of some general rules, dental photography can be performed more easily than ever before, even saving time and expense. The best choice for dental photography is DSLR cameras. These cameras have a very large dynamic range and with appropriate settings true colors can be detected and recorded. In this review, some basic information about the selection of digital camera and camera equipment for dental photography is given and the techniques of taking intra-oral and extra-oral photographs are mentioned.

ESTETİK DİŞ HEKİMLİĞİNDE DENTAL FOTOĞRAFÇILIK

Abstract

Günümüzde dijital kamera ve kamera ekipmanları kullanımının giderek yaygınlaşması, hekimlerin hastalarının hem intra-oral hem de ekstra-oral görüntülerini görsel olarak belgelemelerine katkı sağlamaktadır. Estetik unsurları bilen ve teknolojik uygulamaları klinik diş hekimliğine nasıl dahil edeceğini öğrenen hekimler dental fotoğrafçılık sayesinde gülüş tasarımını tahmin edilebilir şekilde planlayabilmekte ve beklenen sonucu hastaları ve teknisyenle paylaşabilmektedir. Ayrıca başka hastalara yapılan tedavi öncesi ve sonrası fotoğraf kayıtları sayesinde, planlı bir tedavinin tüm aşamaları gösterilebilmekte ve hastalar üzerinde olumlu etkiler bırakılabilmektedir. Doğru ekipman ve bazı genel kurallara hakim olma sayesinde dental fotoğrafçılık her zamankinden daha basit şekilde gerçekleştirilebilir, hatta zaman ve masraftan tasarruf edilebilir. Dental fotoğrafçılık için en iyi seçim DSLR kameralardır. Bu kameralar çok büyük bir dinamik aralığa sahiptir ve uygun ayarlar sayesinde gerçek renkler algılanabilir ve kaydedilebilir. Bu derlemede, dental fotoğrafçılık için dijital kamera ve kamera ekipmanlarının seçilmesiyle ilgili bazı temel bilgiler verilerek intra-oral ve ekstra-oral fotoğrafların çekim tekniklerinden bahsedilmiştir.
