Dweller of Purgatory: Th e Portrait of Artist Between Identity and Non-Identity

Year 2014, Issue: 6, 165 - 178, 01.12.2014

Abstract

Present essay compares and contrasts Hegel’s and Adorno’s thought in a critically dialectical manner and develops the approach of Adorno’s conceiving of the art work as a form of “becoming” within the context of “truth-content (Unwahrheit)”. In this way, by first refering back to basic texts in the history of thinking concerning the creative act such as Timaeus, tries to decipher its modern expressions in the works of art by grounding identity and non-identity on the concept of ‘limit’ -which dialectically excludes them in * Doç. Year 2014, Issue: 6, 165 - 178, 01.12.2014
