Abstract

Incommensurability is one of the most distinguished and confounding notions of Th omas Kuhn’s philosophy of science. As it is well-known, in Th e Structure of Scientific Revolutions published at 1962, incommensurability plays an important function when the problem of paradigm shift occurs. Nevertheless, Kuhn’s passionate desire in order to defend this conceptual organon against his critics not arrives to an end within his career. Especially soon after 80s, he partially (and continuously) renewed his former defi nitions concerning this notion. Th e aim of this study is to explicate Kuhn’s concepiont of incommensurability via his related post-Structure works

Mukayese Edilemezliği Yeniden Düşünmek: Bağ-Kurucu Yapılar

Abstract

Th omas Kuhn’un bilim felsefesinin en önemli ve bir o kadar da kafa karıştırıcı mefhumlarından biri mukayese edilemezliktir. Bilindiği üzere 1962 tarihli Bilimsel Devrimlerin Yapısı’nda mukayese edilemezlik, paradigma değişimi meselesi gündeme geldiğinde son derece hayati bir işlev görür. Bununla birlikte Kuhn’un kendisine yönelik eleştirilere karşı bu kavramsal aleti tutkulu bir biçimde savunmaya devam etmesi bir son bulmamış, bu husus adeta onun kariyerinin baş derdi olmuştur. Özellikle 80’lerin başlangıcından itibaren Kuhn, söz konusu mefhuma dair kısmen (ve de sürekli) yeni açıklamalar sunma yoluna gitmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Kuhn’un mukayese edilemezlik mefhumunu, onun Devrimler-sonrası ilgili yazıları üzerinden irdelemektir
