INVESTIGATING THE ANTECEDENTS OF ORGANIZATIONAL IDENTIFICATION
Abstract
The goal of this paper is to precisely examine the relationship between the attractiveness of organizational identity and strength of identification, and how perceived trust underlines such a possible effect of identity attractiveness on organizational identification OID . A total of 545 public and private bank employees attended the study. Participants completed measures of organizational identification, organizational trust, and attractiveness of perceived organizational identity. Structural equation modeling and LISREL8.30 Jöreskog and Sörbom, 1993 was used to assess the research model. The findings show that the relationship between attractiveness of perceived organizational identity APOI and identification is mediated by trust, and identity attractiveness does not directly influence the identification strength.
