A CASE STUDY OF PEDAGOGICAL METHOD OF ART CRITICISM IN VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN EDUCATION
Abstract
One of the main goals of education in our age, regardless of the field of education, is the development of effective critical thinking.
In the same line, visual communication design education aims to provide the visual communication designers with the qualities of creative and critical thinking, problem solving, effective use of visual and verbal communication, as well as transmitting messages to other without any loss in meaning.
In this context, education for visual communication design, which aims to train and develop visual communication designers who are expected to provide products with qualitative value and to prevent aesthetic pollution prevention, should also instill critical and creative thinking in trainees together with vocational skills.
Pedagogical method of art criticism has the capacity to make an original contribution to instill in students and educators in the field a critical and creative thinking.
This research is based on a case study and a meta-analysis for using the pedagogical method of art critism proposed by Feldman in visual communication design training.
