REPRESENTATIVES OF HACI BEKTÂŞ-I VELÎ CULT IN GERMİYANOĞULLARI LANDS
Abstract
During XIIIth - XVth centuries, considered as organisation period of Bektashism, majority of dervishes most of whom had been trained in the zawiya of Hacı Bektâş-ı Velî in Sulucakarahöyük (today’s district of Hacıbektaş) and who were called “Abdâlân-ı Rûm” in certain references, settled and established zawiyas in Western Anatolia lands- where the Turkmen lived and Christian population also partly resided- especially in Germiyan area. These dervishes, sincerely attached to Hacı Bektâş-ı Velî cult, not only laid the foundations of Bektashism where they resided but also played roles in establishing new dwelling units around the zawiyas they had founded. In this research, historical identity of certain dervishes like Hacım Sultan, Burhan Abdal, Seyyid Cemal Sultan, Rasûl Baba ve Karaca Ahmed- who were personally mentioned in Hacı Bektaş Velâyetnâme- and their activities in Germiyanoğulları lands were studied and accordingly, the role this land played in the organisation of Anatolian Bektashism was emphasied.
