IDENTIFYING THE OPTIMUM MARKETING STRATEGY BY ANALYTIC NETWORK PROCESS
Abstract
Markets and marketing conditions, competitive strategies, consumer behaviour and competitors are on an increase in today’s business world. Marketing strategy which companies develop according to ever- changing internal and external environmental factors can be defined as the general principles that make them accomplish their objectives. Hotel companies are one of those companies implementing various kinds of marketing strategies and having a significant role in toruism industry. In this study it is aimed to develope a model to identify marketing strategies of thermal hotels operating in Kütahya. In order to identify the marketing strategy as a multi-criteria decision-making problem, Analytic Network Process which is one of Operational Research methods has been used. Decision-makers’ subjective judgments have been included in the selection process with the help of Analytic Network Process method and some evaluations have been made by forming a network based on alternative marketing strategies that thermal hotels can implement, factors affecting these strategies and relationships between them. According to the results of analysis, differentiation strategy has been identified as the most significant marketing strategy. This study provides decision makers in thermal hotels with a practical decision-making framework to identify the most appropriate marketing strategy that will yield a competitive advantage using limited resources in marketing.
