NOTATIONS OF GAIA PLANE GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION
Abstract
PROMETHEE, one of the method of Multi Criteria Decision Making methods have excelled among the other Multi Criteria Decision Making methods in academic studies and researches in recent years. The purpose of this article is to introduce PROMETHEE method and GAIA plane to the researchers. In this context, it is aimed to increase the recognition and usability of these methods in our country for future studies. GAIA plane is built on the results of PROMETHEE method and it offers a visual representation to the decision maker. This visual representation provides benefits to PROMETHEE among the other Multi Criteria Decision Making methods. GAIA presents rapid, simple and understandable point of view to the decision-makers and researchers. In decision making, GAIA applies a different approach by reflecting the results of PROMETHEE over two-dimensional plane. In general, Multi Criteria Decision Making methods solves decision problems with their procedures and acquires the ranking or sorting of the alternatives. GAIA plane enriches this ranking or sorting with geometrical representations. In this study, GAIA plane’s properties, notations, alternatives, criteria and decision stick positions on the plane are described to guide for researchers.
