HUME'UN ULUSLARARASI TİCARETTE OTOMATİK AKIM MEKANİZMASI YAKLASIMININ TOPLUMSAL VE FELSEFİ TEMELLERİ

Abstract

Bu makalede David Hume’un madeni para akım mekanizması yaklaşımının toplumsal ve felsefi temelleri tartışılmaktadır. Çalışmada öncelikle, 18. Yüzyıl İskoç ekonomisi ve İskoç Aydınlanması konuları ele alınmaktadır. İzleyen bölümlerde ise Hume’un iktisadi analize yapmış olduğu en önemli katkı olan uluslarasi ticaret konusundaki görüşleri, önceki bölümlerin ışığı altında incelenmektedir. Makalede, David Hume’un içinde yaşadığı dönemin sosyal, siyasal ve ekonomik koşullarının iktisadi görüşlerini ve özelde madeni para akım mekanizması olarak bilinen analizini nasıl etkilemiş olabileceği konusu incelenmeye çalışılmaktadır

Abstract

This paper examines the social and philosophical foundations of David Hume’s approach on specie flow mechanism. First, 18th Century Scottish economy and Scottish Enlightment are discussed. In the following sections, the thoughts of Hume on international trade which were his most famous contributions to economics are studied in the light of the previous sections. The paper tries to investigate how social, political and economic conditions of his era might have an impact on David Hume’s thoughts on economics, specifically his well-known analysis of so-called specie-flow mechanism
