KÜMELEME ANALİZİ İLE AB ÜLKELERİ VE TÜRKİYE'NİN SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR KALKINMA AÇISINDAN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Sustainable Development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainable development includes elements of environmental and social sustainability as well as economic development. In other words, it can be claimed that sustainability has three bases. These are economic sustainability, socio-political sustainability and environmental sustainability. The purpose of this study is to emphasize, the significance of the term of sustainable development for European Union, to analyze the level of development of Turkey, which is in the process of full membership, against member countries of the European Union, to determine the cluster of homogenous countries in terms of sustainable development indicators thanks to clustering analysis, which is one of the multivariate statistical methods, and to establish in which same clusters Turkey takes part with other countries

KÜMELEME ANALİZİ İLE AB ÜLKELERİ VE TÜRKİYE'NİN SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR KALKINMA AÇISINDAN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Sürdürülebilir kalkınma; gelecek nesillerin kendi ihtiyaçlarını karşılayabilmelerini tehlikeye atmaksızın bugünkü neslin ihtiyaçlarını karşılayan kalkınmadır. Sürdürülebilir kalkınma, ekonomik kalkınma yanında çevresel ve sosyal sürdürülebilirlik unsurlarını da içermektedir. Diğer bir ifadeyle sürdürülebilirliğin üç ayağı olduğu söylenebilir. Bunlar; ekonomik sürdürülebilirlik, sosyo-politik sürdürülebilirlik ve çevresel sürdürülebilirliktir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; sürdürülebilir kalkınma kavramının Avrupa Birliği için önemini vurgulamak, tam üyelik sürecinde olan Türkiye’nin, Avrupa Birliği üyesi ülkeleri karşısında sürdürülebilir kalkınma düzeyini incelemek, sürdürülebilir kalkınma değişkenleri açısından, çok değişkenli istatistiksel yöntemlerden biri olan kümeleme analizi yardımıyla homojen ülke kümelerini belirlemek ve Türkiye’nin hangi ülkelerle aynı kümelerde yer aldığını saptamaktır
