Steel is the material that stands out with its features in the building industry like sustainability, economy, durability, etc. With the environmental awareness and technological developments that started to be formed in our country, it becomes inevitable for steel material to have a larger denominator in this sector. Steel material is widely used especially in wide span roof systems. Within the scope of this study, truss beams with trapezoidal and parabolic head types were selected to pass the roof opening of an industrial structure designed to have a 30 m span. For each type of hood, in the roof plane of the space; Cap shapes providing ceiling height gain of 0 cm, 40 cm, 80 cm, 120 cm, 160 cm, 200 cm and 240 cm were created. 14 different planar trusses created in total are modeled to provide optimum weight in SAP2000 program. By comparing the obtained data, planar lattice beams, which give the optimum result in terms of weight and cost for each headboard type and ceiling height gain, were determined.
