NE EĞİTİMDE NE İSTİHDAMDA OLAN (NEET) GENÇLER KONULU ÇALIŞMALARIN BİBLİYOMETRİK ANALİZİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, nicel ve nümerik ölçüm göstergelerinden hareketle Ne Eğitimde Ne İstihdam da olan Türkçe kısaltması genellikle İngilizcesinin (Not in Employment, Education or Training) baş harfleri olarak kullanılan NEET kavramıyla ilişkili yayınlanmış araştırma makalelerinin bibliyometrik analizleri sonucunda kavrama yönelik kapsamlı bir bakış oluşturmak amaçlanmıştır. Bibliyometrik analiz yönteminin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada, 26 Eylül 2024 tarihinde Web of Science arama motorunda "NEET" anahtar kelimesiyle bir tarama yapılmış ve 2013-2023 yılları arasında sosyal bilimlerde yayımlanan makaleler SSCI, SCI-EXPANDED ve ESCI indekslerinde incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sınırlılıkları kapsamında 374 çalışma üzerinden VOSviewer yazılımı kullanılarak analiz gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda NEET konusu üzerinde en fazla çalışması ve atıfı bulunan araştırmacının Sue Maguire olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu konu üzerine en fazla yayın İtalya’da yapılırken, en fazla yayın yapan üniversite ise Tartu Üniversitesi ve Bath Üniversite’dir. NEET ile ilgili yürütülen çalışmalarda anahtar kelimelere bakıldığında NEET, genç işsizliği ve NEET gençlik ifadeleri ön planda yer almaktadır. Çalışmada bir diğer bulgu NEET nüfus oranlarının yüksek olduğu ülkelerde bu alana yönelik çalışma oldukça sınırlı iken NEET nüfus oranlarının az olduğu ülkelerde çalışmalar yoğunlaşmaktadır.

A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF STUDIES ON YOUTH NOT IN EDUCATION EMPLOYMENT OR TRAINING (NEET)

Abstract

This study aims to create a comprehensive overview of the concept of NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training), whose Turkish acronym is generally used as the initials of its English acronym, based on quantitative and numerical measurement indicators, through bibliometric analysis of published research articles. In this study, in which the bibliometric analysis method was used, a search was conducted in the Web of Science search engine on September 26, 2024, using the keyword “NEET,” and articles published in the social sciences between 2013-2023 in the SSCI, SCI-EXPANDED, and ESCI indexes were examined. Within the scope of the study’s limitations, 374 studies were analyzed using VOSviewer software. As a result of the study, it was determined that Sue Maguire is the researcher with the highest number of studies and citations on NEET. In addition, the most publications on this topic were made in Italy, while the University of Tartu and the University of Bath had the most publications. The keywords used in studies on NEET include NEET, youth unemployment, and NEET youth. Another finding of the study is that in countries with high rates of NEET population, studies on this area are quite limited, while in countries with low rates of NEET population, studies are concentrated.
