Abomasum Displacement and Treatment Results: A Retrospective Study-73 cases

Abstract

In the present retrospective study, it was aimed to evaluate the results of right fossa paralumbar abomasopexy and right fossa paralumbar omentopexy to the right and left displaced abomasum. Different races and a total of 73 cases in 4 Simmental cows, 69 are Holstein breed. Out of 72 cases of cows and only one of them is male. Out of 13 patients with right-sided abomasal displacement, in 60 of them left-sided abomasal displacement are created. Omentopexy was performed from the region in the right fossa for left abomasal displacement cases. Paralumbar abomasopexy was performed from the right for right abomasal displacement. Post-operative, only water was given the first day after the operation. 3. day of postoperative increasing amounts of alfalfa has been given until 7 days. Subsequently gradually increasing the amount of concentrate feed. Prognosis of the cows were checked by phone. 59 cows were good condition. Contribution of the cows are 52 for left-sided abomasal displacement and 7 for right-sided abomasal displacement. The remaining cases of 14 (8 left displacement, 6 right displacement) had sent to slaughter due to loss of weight and not get pregnant. If right abomasal displacement was diagnosed early and treated quickly, more successful outcomes are expected. In the left abomasum displacements (LDA), it has been determined that omentopexy performed in the right fossa paralumbar region can be preferred in terms of ease of application, minimal trauma in abomasum, and prevention of recurrences.

Sığırlarda Abomasum'un Sağ ve Sol Deplasmanı ve Operasyon Sonuçları: Retrospektif Çalışma-73 olgu

Abstract

Abomasum deplasmanları sığırlarda görülen en önemli metabolik orijinli problemlerdendir. Sunulan retrospektif çalışmada abomasumun sağ ve sol deplasmanlarında sağ fossa paralumbal abomasopeksi ve sağ fossa paralumbal omentopeksi sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı. Çalışma materyalini 2014-2016 yılları arasında abomasumun sağ ve sol deplasmanı teşhisi ile S.Ü. Veteriner Fakültesi Cerrahi Kliniğine gönderilen 73 adet sığır oluşturdu. Bu sığırların değişik ırk ve yaşta 4'ünü Simental, 69'unu Holstein ırkı olmak üzere 72 tanesini dişi, 1 tanesini de erkek sığır oluşturdu. Olguların 13 tanesinde abomasumun sağa deplasmanı, 60 tanesinde abomasumun sola deplasmanı teşhisi konuldu. Abomasumun sola deplasmanı olgularında sağ fossa paralumbal omentopeksi, abomasumun sağa deplasmanı olgularında ise sağ fossa paralumbal abomasopeksi tekniği uygulandı. Operasyondan sonra ilk gün aç bırakılarak sadece su verildi. Postoperatif 3. haftaya kadar artan miktarlarda kuru yonca verildi. Daha sonra kesif yem miktarı tedricen arttırıldı. Operasyon sonrası telefonla hasta sahipleri aranarak 73 olgunun prognozları hakkında bilgi alındı. Alınan bilgilere göre 59 hayvanda prognozun olumlu olduğu, 14 hayvanda ise prognozun olumsuz olduğu bilgisine ulaşıldı. Prognozu olumsuz 14 sığırın operasyondan sonraki süreçte verim düşüklüğü ve gebe kalmamasından dolayı kesime gönderildiği belirlendi. Sonuç olarak, sağ abomasum deplasmanı vakalarında erken dönemde yapılan operatif işlemlerin prognozu pozitif yönde etkilediği belirlendi. Sol abomasum deplasmanlarında ise sağ fossa paralumbal bölgeden yapılan omentopeksi'nin uygulama kolaylığı, abomasumda minimum travma yapmasından dolayı ve nükslerin önlenmesi açısından tercih edilebileceği belirlendi.
