Bir Buzağıda Giardia Duodenalis Kaynaklı Şiddetli Kanlı Diyare Olgusu

Abstract

Giardia duodenalis (G. lamblia, G. intestinalis) ruminantlarda, insanlarda ve yaban hayvanlarında yaygın olarak bulanan bir protozoondur. G. duodenalis buzağılarda enteritis, kilo kaybı ve gelişme gerileğine neden olan ishallin önemli bir etiyolojik ajandır. Bu çalışmanın amacı kanlı ishalle neden olan Giardia duodenalis’in moleküler teşhisini, klinik ve laboratuar bulguları bildirmektir. Çalışmanın materyalini kliniğimize kanlı ishal şikâyeti ile getirilen üç aylık erkek bir buzağı oluşturdu. Buzağının yapılan klinik muayenesinde kanlı bir ishalle birlikte, vücut sıcaklığı 39,8 0C, nabzın 92 vurum/dk ve solunum sayısının 53 solunum/dk olduğu tespit edildi. Tanı amacıyla rektumda dışkı örnekleri alındı. İshalle neden olan (Rotavirus, Coronavirus, Cryptosporidium, E.coli F5(K99) ve Cl. Perfiringes Type) ajanların teşhisinde kullanılan hızlı tanı kiti ile bu ajanların varlığı yönünden incelendi. Bu ajanların hiçbiri tespit edilemedi ancak mikroskobik incelmede Giardia trofozoitleri görülürken koksidiosis etkeni eimeria ookistlerine rastlanılmadı. Kesin tanı için parazitoloji laboratuarına gönderilen örnekte mikroskobik ve moleküler (PZR) analizinde Giardia duodenalis (Assemblage D) tespit edildi. Sonuç olarak; Giardia duodenalis (Assemblage D)’nin buzağılarda şiddetli kanlı ishalle sebep olabileceği ve buzağılar için potansiyel bir problem olduğu kanaatine varılmıştır.
