The Effect of Reinforcement with Glass Fiber Fabric on Some Screw Strength of Laminated Veneer Lumber

Abstract

Wood based structural composite lumbers are the load bearing components in the buildings. For this reason, it is wanted that wood based structural composite lumbers have the high mechanical performance. In addition, in the connection points, it is wanted the high screw, nail and bolt holding strength. In this study, laminated veneer lumber (LVL) produced from poplar rotary-veneer, and reinforced laminated veneer lumber (RLVL) with glass fiber fabric were investigated. For this reason, screw holding strength, screw head pull-trough strength and lateral screw resistance tests were conducted. For each test, both control group and test groups were set up. The differences between control groups and test groups were investigated with T test. According to obtained data; it was determined that the reinforcement with glass fiber fabric increase the direct screw withdrawal strength, screw head pull-through strength and lateral screw resistance, significantly.

Tabakalı Kaplama Kerestenin Bazı Vida Dirençleri Üzerine Cam Elyaf Dokuma ile Güçlendirmenin Etkisi

Abstract

Ahşap esaslı yapısal kompozit keresteler binalarda yük taşıyan elemanlardır. Bu nedenle, Ahşap esaslı yapısal kompozit kerestelerin mekanik performansının yüksek olması istenir. Ayrıca, bağlantı noktalarında, çivi, vida ve cıvata tutma dirençlerinin yüksek olması istenir. Bu çalışmada, kavak soyma kaplamalarla üretilmiş tabakalı kaplama kerestenin (TKK) ve cam elyaf dokuma ile güçlendirilmiş tabakalı kaplama kerestenin (GTKK) vida dirençleri araştırılmıştır. Bu amaç için, vida çıkma direnci, vida başı çıkma direnci ve vida yanal çıkma direnci testleri yapılmıştır. Her test için hem kontrol grubu ve hem de deney grubu oluşturulmuştur. Kontrol grubu ile deney grupları arasındaki farklar T testi ile belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen verilere göre; cam elyaf ile güçlendirmenin vida çıkma direnci, vida başı çıkma direnci ve vida yanal çıkma direncini istatistiksel olarak önemli seviyede artırdığı belirlenmiştir.
