Determinants Of Domestic Violence Against Women In Turkey: Multinomial Logit Model Approac
Abstract
Domestic violence against women is a very common social problem that is experienced despite the geographical borders, economic development, educational level, religious and cultural differences. In our country, there is not sufficient number of studies empirically approaching the physical, psychological, economic violence experienced by women, which should certainly be emphasized, just like in the entire world. In this context, the study conducted the logit model analysis using the data set of the Research on Women and Families in Turkey by TUIK in 2008 in an attempt to determine the factors affecting the recent increase in the violence against women. The acquired results are thought to direct the plans and policies to be formed for struggling with violence against women
