Abstract

Art is one of the most important parts that construct culture of societies. While works of art giving aesthetic pleasure to the audience, at the same time they give information about the period of life. They don’t even be the only reflective of the culture that it come through, works of art are highly effective elements which provides crucial information about the culture of that society. Images created by society are a reflection of the lifestyle of that society. Sometimes, it can even be said to be more effective than written documents. Abstract

Sanat, toplumların kültürünü oluşturan en önemli parçalardan biridir. Sanat eserleri izleyiciye estetik haz verirken, aynı zamanda da dönem yaşamı hakkında da bilgiler verirler. Sanat yapıtları içinden çıktığı kültürünün tek yansıtıcısı olmasalar da, o toplumun kültürü hakkında çok önemli bilgiler veren, son derece etkili ögeleridir. Toplumların yarattığı imgeler, o toplumların yaşam tarzlarının birer aynalarıdır. Hatta kimi zaman yazılı belgelerden de daha etkili oldukları söylenebilir. Bu çalışmada, İlya Repin’in “Türk Sultanına Mektup Yazan Zaporogian Kazakları” adlı eseri Feldman’ın eleştiri yöntemine göre incelenmiş, bulgulara dayalı bir yorumlama yoluna gidilmiştir
