Öz
Art is one of the most important parts that construct culture of societies. While works of art giving aesthetic pleasure to the audience, at the same time they give information about the period of life. They don’t even be the only reflective of the culture that it come through, works of art are highly effective elements which provides crucial information about the culture of that society. Images created by society are a reflection of the lifestyle of that society. Sometimes, it can even be said to be more effective than written documents. In this study, Ilya Repin's " Letters by Zaporozhian Cossacks to the Turkish Sultan " was examined by the method of Feldman's criticisms and an interpretation based on the findings was made to
