Thermalism in Kütahya

Abstract

Many spas in Kütahya have developed around mineral springs associated with crustal fracture lines such as Ilıca (Harlek), Eynal, Emet, Dereli, Göbel. Ilıca (Gediz), The Mount Murat. They are hot mineral springs and the temperature of them is over 30 0 C. These spas in Kütahya have 4000 bed capacity with hotels, motels, pensions, private and state owned summer houses. These receive more than 50.000 visitors annually. There are too many visitors In the high season between May and October. While there is overcrowding in this season spas are under-utilisided in winter except Ilıca (Gediz). Emet. Eynal and Ilıca (Harlek).

The mineral springs of Kütahya which are rich of the quantity of dissolved minerals are very important from the point of protection of human health under the control of a doctor. It is observed that the mineral springs contain bicarbonate, sulphate, calcium and also fluorine and C02 . Cures are applied by bathing in thermal pools in mud and drinking mineral waters.

The Mount Murat which is covered with trees is also richly endowed with natural attractions : small rivers and lakes. The growth of Thermalism in Kütahya has brought some problems. For example more beds are requiered. That is clear from the results of this study Kütahya is highly suitasle for the development of thermalism

KÜTAHYA'DA KAPLICA TURİZMİ

Abstract

Sağlık turizminin bir kolu olan kaplıca turizmi, sıcak ve soğuk maden sularının içilmesi, çamurunun sürülmesi ve banyo yapılmasını kapsayan su tedavisi ile birlikte dinlenme ve eğlenmeyi içine alan bir turizm şeklidir. Yapılan araştırmalar Türkiye'de çok sayıda maden suyu kaynağının varlığını ortaya koymaktadır. Bu zengin doğal kaynağın halk sağlığı ve turizm açısından değerlendirilmesi için, öneminin ve kaplıca turizminin sorunlarının ve çözümlerinin kavranması gerekir. Araştırmaya kaplıca turizmi konu alınırken maden suyu kaynakları bakımından en zengin illerimizden birisi olan Kütahya seçilmiştir. Burada kaplıcaların, maden suyu kaynaklarının fiziksel ve kimyasal özellikleri, ulaşım olanakları, konaklama tesisleri, kullanım süreleri gibi konular yerinde incelenmiş, ilin kaplıca turizmi açısından olanakları ve sorunları tesbit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.
