This research has been conducted in order to investigate the consumption of hybrid corn grown as a second by emplaying the evapotranspirometers with various ground water depths and the water consumed to assimilate 1 kg.dry matter and the effects of water consumption on the yield at the research facility of the culture technic department located at Menemen Faculty farm during the 1985-1986 years.
A total of 12 transpirometre were used in the experiment each having 4 m2.Eight of them a 0.60 m. ground water depth; 2 of them have 0.90 m. Ground water depth and the remaining 2 have a 1.20 m.ground gater depth. The Daily water comsomption values of hybrid com were measured in mm.The following results were obtained from the research continued for 2 years.
1- The grain yield per hectare in creased as the ground water depths increased but the vegetative part decreased.
2- As the ground water depth increased the amound of water used for 1 kg.dry
matter production also increased.
3- The plant consumption values has decreased as the ground water depth increased.
4- Under the similar soil and climaticalconditions when the irrigation depth of hybrid corn grown as a second the amount of irrigation water required was calculated as 352.6-521.0 mm.
Bu araştırmada P 3747 melez mısır ikinci ürün olarak ele alınmış ve aynı
koşullarında mevcut evapotranspirometrelere ekilmek suretiyle mısır bitkisinin
günlük, aylık ve vejatasyon süresi içersinde net su tüketimi ile 1 kg kuru madde
oluşturabilmesi için harcadığı su miktarı araştırılmıştır.
