Design and Implementation of Low-Cost UHF RFID Inventory Management System

Abstract

In this study, an ultra-high frequency (UHF), radio frequency identification (RFID) system has been performed for the purpose of inventory management, which is suitable for low cost and flexible use. With the system proposed, the security and permissions of the products in the inventory were effectively managed from a single operator point. For the UHF RFID system, two application points were created. One is the central point, which provides user permissions, and the other is the security point, which controls entrances and exits. Its aim is to analyze the data obtained from RFID tags from a single point. Communication between the operator and the long-distance UHF RFID reader is provided by the RS485 serial communication standard. An efficient data processing structure was used to increase stability and making data meaningful for the transformation data which was obtained from UHF RFID at the security point. A flexible graphical user interface (GUI) has been created for the UHF RFID inventory management system. The performance of the system customized for library inventory management has been successfully tested over real usage scenarios.

Envanter Yönetimi için Düşük Maliyetli UHF RFID Sistemin Tasarımı ve Gerçekleştirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, envanter yönetimi amacıyla düşük maliyetli ve esnek kullanıma uygun ultra yüksek frekanslı (UHF), radyo frekansı ile tanımlama (RFID) sistemi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Oluşturulan sistem ile envanterde bulunan ürünlerin güvenliği ve izinleri tek bir noktadan etkin bir şekilde sağlanmıştır. UHF RFID sistemine ait iki adet uygulama noktası oluşturulmuştur. Bunlardan birincisi, kullanıcı izinlerinin sağlandığı merkez nokta ve diğeri ise giriş ve çıkışların denetlendiği güvenlik noktasıdır. RFID etiketlerinden elde edilen bilgilerin tek bir noktadan değerlendirilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Operatör ile uzun mesafeli UHF RFID okuyucu arasındaki iletişim RS485 seri iletişim veri yolu standardı ile sağlanmıştır. Güvenlik noktasından, UHF RFID anten yardımı ile okunan bilgilerin anlamlı hale gelebilmesi ve kararlılığın artırılması amacıyla etkin bir veri işleme yapısı kullanılmıştır. UHF RFID envanter yönetim sistemine ait esnek bir grafik kullanıcı arayüzü (GUI) oluşturulmuştur. Kütüphane envanter yönetimi için özelleştirilen sistemin başarımı gerçek kullanım senaryoları üzerinden test edilmiştir.
