LITERARY CRITICISM JOURNAL PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES
1) Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Edebî Eleştiri must not have been published elsewhere or sent to be published elsewhere. If it is detected that an article submitted to our journal is simultaneously submitted to another journal or any other publishing platform, the process of the relevant article will be canceled and the author will be notified of an ethical violation. Articles based on graduate theses or papers presented at scientific meetings such as congresses/symposiums etc. may be published provided that a statement to this effect is included. With the decision of the editor, a limited number of articles based on graduate theses or papers presented in congresses, seminars, etc. may be included in each issue. Papers presented at scientific meetings such as congresses, seminars, etc. can be accepted to our Journal, provided that the full text has not been published before.
2) Edebî Eleştiri Journal is a refereed journal publishing in the field of language and literature. Within this framework, articles on New Turkish Literature, Classical Turkish Literature, Turkish Folk Literature, New Turkish Language, Old Turkish Language, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics are published. A limited number of articles from the fields of Western Languages and Literatures and Eastern Languages and Literatures are included in our journal.
3) Although the publication language of the journal is Turkish, a limited number of articles written in English, French and German can also be included if the editor and the editorial board deem appropriate. In addition to research articles, reviews, translations and book reviews are also included in our journal.
4) The evaluation and publication of manuscripts submitted to our journal depends first and foremost on the editors' decision on the suitability of the manuscript for the journal. The editors may directly reject an article that they deem inappropriate or insufficient in terms of form or content without passing it through the referee process. The fact that an article receives a positive report from the referees does not necessarily mean that the article will be published. The editor, editorial board or field editor may decide not to publish an article even if the referees report favorably. However, in such a case, the editor is obliged to inform the author of the reason.
5) If an article submitted to our journal is rejected for any reason, it is not possible to resubmit this article to our journal for evaluation. Articles submitted despite this will be rejected directly.
6) As of May 2018, manuscripts submitted to Edebî Eleştiri Journal are scanned by iThenticate. An article with a similarity rate exceeding 20% is rejected. However, this rate can be updated by the editor according to the scope of the study and the factor that causes the similarity rate to be high (compilation, facsimile text, archive scanning, etc.).
7) Articles submitted to our journal can be withdrawn while they are in the preliminary review stage without proceeding to the evaluation stage. Articles that are sent to the referees and passed to the evaluation stage cannot be withdrawn. Authors are required to follow the process of the article only through the system. If necessary, a letter to the editor can be written only for technical problems. Apart from this, no letter to the editor can be written in any way regarding the operation of the article in the referee process. In addition, the editor and the editorial board cannot be held responsible in any way for the decisions made by the referees.
8) Each article (including book reviews) submitted to our journal is forwarded to two referees with at least a doctoral title after meeting the necessary prerequisites. If the article receives an acceptance report from both referees, it is published in our journal with the approval of the editor. If both referees reject the manuscript or one referee rejects the manuscript and the other referee gives a major revision report, the manuscript is rejected. In case one of the referees gives an acceptance report and the other a rejection report, the manuscript is sent to a third referee, with the editor having the right of disposal, and a final decision is made according to the result.
9) For an article that the referee suggests a correction, the author must upload a correction file to the system within 1 month at the latest. The evaluation process for the manuscript of the authors who do not upload the corrected text within 1 month following the referee's correction suggestion will be terminated and the manuscript will be rejected. While uploading the manuscripts to the system, the author's name, address, institution, etc. information should not be included in any way. Manuscripts containing any of this information will be rejected directly.
10) An author can have at most one article published in the Journal of Edebî Eleştiri in the same year. In addition, an author cannot have an article published in our Journal in consecutive years. For example, an author whose article was published in the October 2021 issue of our Journal will be able to appear in our Journal with another article in the March 2023 issue at the earliest. In addition, an author should not upload another article to the system before the process related to his/her ongoing article is completed. In such a case, the other article or articles uploaded will be rejected.
11) No fee is charged to the authors for the articles submitted to our journal. Authors whose articles are published in our journal transfer the copyright of their works to our journal free of charge. Therefore, no royalties can be charged for the published articles. Our journal reserves the right to share the published articles in print or on the internet for academic purposes.
12) All responsibility for the articles published in our journal belongs to the authors. The editors and other boards of our journal cannot be held responsible for the content of the articles. Authors who submit articles to our journal are deemed to have accepted this provision in advance. A researcher who makes use of an article published in our journal must cite the relevant article in accordance with scientific criteria.
13) Our journal does not include any commercial or non-commercial advertisement.
