İnformal Öğrenme Ortamlarına Yapılan Gezilerin Canlıların Sınıflandırılması ve Yaşadığımız Çevre Konusunun Öğrenilmesine Etkisi: Tabiat Tarihi Müzesi ve Botanik Bahçesi Örneği

Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı ilkokul 5. sınıf öğrencilerini “Canlıların Sınıflandırılması ve Yaşadığımız Çevre” konusunun öğrenilmesinde Ege Üniversitesi Tabiat Tarihi Müzesi ve Botanik Bahçesi ve Herbaryum Uygulama & Araştırma merkezinin etkisini araştırmaktır. Bu gezi 4E öğretim modelinin keşfetme basamağında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada karma araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Nitel veriler açık-uçlu sorulara verilen cevaplar, gözlem, gözlemleri açıklamada kullanılacak çizimler aracılığıyla, nicel veriler ise başarı testi kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırmada amaçsal-yargısal örneklem seçim yoluyla 2 farklı ilkokuldan 75 ilkokul öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Elde edilen sonuçlar informal öğrenme ortamlarının öğrencilerin öğrenmelerine pozitif etki yaptığını göstermiştir. Çocuklar gezi boyunca eğlendiklerini ve bu tür etkinliklere derslerinde daha çok yer verilmesi gerektiğini bildirdiler. Gözlemleri açıklamada kullanılan çizimler ve başarı testi sonuçları öğrencilerin fen kavramlarına ulaştıklarını göstermiştir. Lakin Tabiat Tarihi müzesi ve Botanik bahçesinin ideal informal öğrenme ortamlarından uzak olduğunu ve eğitmenlerin öğrencileri yönlendirmede eksik ve/veya yetersiz olduğunu gösterdi.
