Abstract

There is clearly an increased prevalence of majör depressive disorder, a relatively common and costly Central nervous system syndrome, in diabetic patients. During the past fvvo decades, multiple studies reveal that not only are depressive symptoms a risk factor for the development o f type 2 diabetes, but they have also been shown to contribute to hyperglycemia, diabetic complications, functional disability and all-cause mortality among diabetic patients. This article was prepared in order to revievvs studies examining the relationship betvveen cognitive disfunction and diabetes. Collaborative çare and the "patient-centered medical home" have emerged as potentially effective interventions to improve quality of çare and patient outcomes in patients with depression and medical Uinesses such as diabetes

DİYABET VE BİLİŞSEL İŞLEVLER

Abstract

Diyabet tıbbi bakımın yanı sıra hastanın öz yönetimi, aile desteği ve eğitimle organların zarar görmesi ve mortaliteyi engellemenin olası olduğu birçok özelliğin birlikte değerlendirilmesi gereken prevalansı yüksek bir kronilk durumdur. Diyabetik bireylerde majör depresif durum yaygın ve ekonomik yükü fazla olan merkezi sinir sitemi sorunu olarak giderek artmaktadır. Son 20 yılda yapılan çalışmalar sadece depresif semptomların değil aynı zamanda hiperglisemi, diyabet komplikasyonları, işlevsel kapasitede bozulma ve diyabetik hastalarda ölüme neden birçok etkenin de gelişmesinde rolü olduğunu göstermiştir. Bu makalede diyabet ve bilişsel işlevler arasındaki ilişkiye değinilmiştir. Depresyonun eşlik ettiği diyabet gibi tıbbi durumlarda işbirlikçi ve hasta merkezli bakımla etkin girişimlerin uygulanması bireylerin yaşam kalitelerinin düzeltilmesinde ve hasta sonuçlarında olumlu etki yapacaktır
