REORGANIZATION IN DAY SURGERY NURSING CARE FOR CHILD PATIENT

Abstract

Objective: This study was planned as semiexperimental for the patients, operated with day surgery, in order to rearrenge nursing care, to improve the quality of nursing care, to deliver a better and continuous nursing care for all patients as well as investigate the satisfaction of child parents. Methods: The study was carried out in Department of Children Surgery in a University Hospital between October 2002- August 2003. Convenience sampling technique was utilized for sampling in the study. In the study Guide for informing Relatives of Patients was developed and coloring book for children, developed by American Society of Anesthesists, adapted to clinical environment and translated into turkish. The order of commintments, to be follewed up by policlinic, service as well as postoperative nurses, were determined in the clinic. The form, developed for monitoring day surgery patients, got used. Data; The questionnaire was used before and later the changes were happened in the clinic while having the relatives of patients realized procedures of discharge. Analize of the data were achieved by using “SPSS for windows 11.0”. Number, percentage, square-chi x2 werw used in evaluating related data. Results: Fourty five child parents 90% in the study group and 35 of patients 70% of controls have had satisfaction of the service they had about day surgery. It is found out that there is a considerable difference when study group and group controls are compared. It is noticed that 49 child parents 98% of study group and 44 child parents 88% of control group were satisfied with nursing services. When a comparison between study and control groups is achieved, it is realized that there is statistically significant difference. Investigating the rates of filling the boxes of day surgery nursing care form, total nursing care form complated percent 76%. Conclusion: As a result, in the children surgery clinic, according to the changes in the nursing care, it’s observed that the patients’ families are getting more and more glad about the day surgery and nursing services

GÜNÜBIRLIK CERRAHIDE ÇOCUK HASTALARIN HEMŞIRELIK BAKIMI İÇIN YENIDEN YAPILANMA

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma günübirlik cerrahi uygulanan hastalara hemşirelik bakım kalitesini artırmak için; hemşirelik bakımını yeniden düzenlemek ve çocukların ailelerinin memnuniyetini incelemek amacıyla, yarı deneysel olarak planlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma Bir Üniversite Hastanesi Çocuk Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalında Ekim 2002 – Ağustos 2003 tarihleri arasında yürütüldü. Araştırmanın örnekleminde “Olasılıksız Örnekleme yöntemi” kullanıldı. Çalışmada; Günübirlik Ameliyat Olacak Hasta Yakınlarını Bilgilendirme Rehberi geliştirilmiş, Amerikan Anestezistler Cemiyeti’nin ASA çocuklar için geliştirdiği boyama kitabı kliniğe ve Türkçeye uyarlanmış, klinikte poliklinik, servis, ameliyat sonrası hemşirelerinin yapması, izlemesi gereken işlem sırası belirlenmiş, günübirlik cerrahi hastalarını izlem için geliştirilen hemşirelik formunun kullanılması sağlanmıştır. Veriler; klinikte değişiklikler yapılmadan önce ve sonra günübirlik ameliyat olan çocukların ailelerinden taburcu olmadan önce soru formu ile toplandı. Verilerin analizi SPSS for windows 11.0 ile yapıldı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde; sayı, yüzde, ki-kare X2 testi kullanıldı. Bulgular ve Sonuç: Çalışma grubundaki çocuk ailelerinin 45’inin %90 , kontrol grubundaki çocuk ailelerinin 35’inin %70 günübirlik cerrahi ile ilgili aldıkları hizmetten memnun oldukları, çalışma ve kontrol grupları karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmüştür. Hemşirelik hizmetlerinden çalışma grubundaki çocuk ailelerinin 49’unun %98 , kontrol grubundaki çocuk ailelerinin 44’ünün %88 memnun olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışma ve kontrol grupları karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmüştür. Günübirlik cerrahi hemşire bakım formunun genel doldurulma oranının %76 olduğu görülmüştür. Çocuk cerrahisi kliniğinde hemşirelik bakımı ile ilgili olarak yapılan değişikliklerden hastaların günübirlik cerrahi ile ilgili aldıkları hemşirelik bakımından memnuniyetlerinin arttığı görüldü
