DST genel direktörü Dr. H. Nakajlma'nın 42 inci Dünya Sağlık Toplantısında söylediği gibi, "Dünya Bedelini insan sağlığı ile ödeyeceği çevre krizlerine doğru yönelmiş durumdadır." Şimdiye kadar pek çok mühendis ve doğa bilimeisi, sağlık bilimcilerini işe kanştırmayarak, çevre problemlerin' kendi açılarından ele almışlardır. Bu durum ise Dünyanın bütün bölgelerinde yaşıyan insanların, sağlık üzerinde gözlenen çevresel değişiklik etkilerine bakışta duyduğu endişe ve paniğe ters düşmektedir
Abstract
Dr. H.Nakajaima. So far, mor engineers and natural scientists, as opposed to medical profession - als, have concerned themselves with environmeltal problems. This is in contrast to the deep concern and anxiety by the people in all regions of the world regarding the Impact of changes in the enviroment on human health. tncreased mechanisatlon, lrrIgatIon, drainage and use of fertilisers and pesticides have led to soil erosion, land, air, water and food pollu - tion resulting in major health ramifications. During the past two decates we occassionaly have counted our casualties from the air pollution in the big cities, Chernobly damages follo - wing a major accident at the plant and large areas contaminated by ra - dioactive fall-out, contaminated foods and waters with insecticides and other chemicals, contaminated waters as fecal from sewerage, mfrastructural deficieny and urbanization problems were several about these.
